Over the last two weeks I have bought six books from Amazon.com, created a shopping list on harristeeter.com (many locations you can actually grocery shop online now), and developed pictures on shutterfly.com.
This means that instead of going to Border’s or Barnes & Noble, instead of spending a “usual” (now “excessive”) amount of time in a grocery store, and instead of going to Walgreens or CVS (or even across the room to print my own pictures), I sat on my couch…in my robe…and got free shipping on every book and picture order.
I am starting to wonder what we aren’t going to be able to do on the internet as opposed to what we are going to be able to do.
Products are changing so fast and thus the way we think about things are changing so fast. I am so thankful to know that my God is remaining constant in knowing what is best for me, always. This is the most wonderful constant I have encountered in a long time because it enables me to know that no matter what else is going on in my life, in my world, in my state, city, school, work, or house, all I have to do is follow His ways.
Great-WHAT are his ways? HOW do I know this? Pray, read, and listen…with a heart detached (otherwise your desires and wants skew what is being told to you – at least this is how it has been in my experience).
This revelation has really started to change my entire way of thinking and has made it very difficult to frown – becoming more and more difficult, the more and more I really understand it because the more I understand that He knows what is best for me, the less I have to understand why He says this, or why He is telling me this. The understanding that whatever the reason, the underlying tone of “He knows what is best for me – even more than I know, think, or ‘am’” is becoming more and more “good enough for me.”
In my life, this is freedom in one of its’ liberating forms.
What are some things that are changing in your life and you just want to know WHY?
Why is knowing WHY so important?
(There is an awesome chapter in Joyce Meyer’s Battlefield of the Mind titled “Confused Mind” that has some really great insight that has helped me understand this concept if you don’t buy in or understand or just want more.)
I know that if I find myself upset….I find myself. Not God. Whenever I am in tune with Him, whatever happens is…whatever. Usually joyful, in fact. I think, when you are truly aligned with God, the “why” should not matter.
