Im a better man now!
I like “He Sings Right Back” because it reminds me of how unconditional God’s love is for us. God is always singing to us; when we’re selfish, prideful and deaf AND when we’re obedient. He doesn’t wait for us to fix up a great song for His review and then determine whether or not it’s deserving of a response. He is singing. When we start listening–living our lives as a song to Him, seeking and obeying–we get to hear Him.
I also am really enjoying “Patience” because it FEELS patient; doesn’t it? God has been teaching me about patience and this morning I feel like He revealed something to me: Patience is not so much about being calm until you get your way; it’s more about being content in the present situation. It’s not about being able to breathe and bear through the 5 o’clock traffic; it’s about finding purpose in a stationary car on the freeway. I tend to think I’m being patient when I can put on a smile and wait peacefully to get whatever it is I want. I’m not, though. I am more fully experiencing God’s patience when I can dwell in those moments and seek His purpose, gaze upon His beauty, or meditate on His Word.
Happiness is my favorite of the day – it reminds me of the purity that we are all created to have – enabling every situation to be a happy one because of the promise of future grace.
SMILE ON!
