Job 32:8-”It is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.”
i rely on my own understanding far too often.
and it’s not like i think, “hmm, if i could choose my understanding or ask the Holy Spirit on this one, which would i go with?”
i just fall into my own train of thought and forget to pray.
i should be in communication with God all day.
talking to, asking of, laughing with, thanking Him all day.
i love my brother ronnie’s idea of posting scripture all over your car, office, bedroom.
constant reminders to remain God-conscious.
how do you react?
to anything.
do you first pray and then act?
or act and then pray?
our emotions can be very deceiving and can lead us to insanity.
let’s pray before we respond. to anything.
Yes-I do both, & have found that acting, then praying is actually an issue of unbelief & pride. Unbelief in God’s absolute wisdom, Holy Spirit’s perfect guidance, Jesus death so that I can truly live (bc if I’m acting without seeking guidance, what is the power in Jesus death?) & pride in thinking “I can do it better myself, my own way”…I don’t say it out loud, but inherent in my actions is exactly that statement.
Very convicting post-thanks man…
& I did it again…
Heading off to pray that I pray without ceasing before every action, that prayer becomes my subconscious, destruction of my pride, & for faith in His future grace.
I agree. Pray before act…. I think once a person can get that right.. you will react to situations waaaay differently. Ive been guilty on number of times of acting first sometimes days before even bending my head in prayer.
Like you said.. its not done on purpose its just our humanly instinct takes ove and we just act before we think.
thanks man!
Prayer: More is better!
Rejoice ALWAYS, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:16-18
Now meditate on that.
