isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
is this normally what we do when chastisement comes our way?
take it, so that others can experience peace & healing?
while i am not saying, nor believe, that we have the ability to provide peace &/or healing to the extent that Jesus did & does,
and while i am not saying, nor believe, that we can ever feel the burden of the world or experience the kind of chastising that our King did,
i do believe, & am saying, that with the Holy Spirit living in us (believers), we need to (and can) provide this peace much more often than we do…
today, i am going to approach all “chastising” as an opportunity for peace
and by the power of the Holy Spirit, attempt to respond in a way that does not make sense to this world.
this time of the year should be one of the most peaceful, joyful times in the life of a Christ follower…
the birth of our King, our Savior,
and yet, it seems to be one of the most hectic times of the year for most people…
let us work hard today at providing peace, even if that means we are crushed for it…
and not because we are supposed to,
but because He did for us – & that is more than enough.
who are you going to provide peace for today?
i will bring peace to someone today. and that is pretty cool to know. because i can! like you said, i have the ability. oh, how easy it is to forget about the power that lives within me.
thanks, great reminder.
