i found it too exciting and beneficial to keep somewhat hidden in any comment section:
There is nothing in this universe that is easier to obtain than the enjoyment of Jesus Christ! Your Lord is more present to you than you are to yourself! Furthermore, His desire to give Himself to you is Greater than your desire to lay hold of Him.
How, then, do you begin? You need only one thing. You need only to know how to seek Him.
Two ways:
(A) Praying the Scripture
1. Turn to the Scripture; choose some passage that is
simple and fairly practical.
2. Come to the Lord, quietly and humbly.
3. Before Him, read a small portion; carefully; taking it in
fully; gently; tasting it and digesting it.
4. Slowly and patiently wait until you have sensed the
heart of what you read, and then turn it into prayer.
(B) Beholding the Lord
1. Read a passage of Scripture, to sense the Lord’s
presence and quiet your mind; not for content now.
2. By faith, believe you have come into the presence of
God.
3. Allow your mind to rest as you simply take whatever
the Lord gives you and “swallow” it as spiritual
nourishment.
Distractions will come. The easiest way in the world to overcome them is by diligently bringing your wandering mind back to the Lord.
These are just a couple ways to accept the Lord’s invitation to “watch and pray.”
Pray without ceasing!
